Sony Giving Tons of PS Stars Points to Some Members

Published:

Sony has been randomly awarding tons of PS Stars points to select members for simply completing campaigns. We’re not sure if this is a glitch or if Sony’s being unusually generous, but a number of players have reported receiving a whopping 500 points for campaigns that typically award a measly 50 points.

Players taken aback by Sony’s generous PS Stars points offer

A number of threads popped up on Reddit, where players reported receiving 500 points for monthly campaigns, like playing any game from the PS Plus Essential lineup that typically grants 50 points. For some users, the campaign not only displays a reward of 500 points, but it also actually grants those points upon completion.

Reading through the replies to those threads, it seems that the 500 point rewards are completely random and not region-locked either.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes… 500 points for just downloading the monthly game and booting it up?” wrote one Redditor from Canada. “I noticed this myself, and I live in Scotland,” wrote another. “I completed it as soon as I could, and I was surprised to see it did actually award me 500 points.”

One user pointed out that a number of members received 500 points for the Tomb Raider campaigns as well, while others got only 50 points. Interestingly, some folks didn’t get those campaigns at all.

Whether this is a glitch or not is anybody’s guess.
