Sony accidentally leaks Secret Agent Clank coming to PS Plus in an Email – WGB

Sony has seemingly managed to leak an upcoming addition to PlayStation Plus Premium, and it’s none other than Secret Agent Clank.

As initially spotted by @realradec on X, and now confirmed by multiple other people who received the missive, Sony sent out a mass Email promoting the new additions to their Game Catalogue.

The Email contains stuff we already know about like Remnant 2, Summoner and Jeanne d’ Arc, but interestingly the Email also mentions Secret Agent Clank.

Of course, July already did have a Ratchet & Clank game added to the PlayStation Plus Premium lineup in the form of Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, so the obvious question is this: did whoever wrote the Email get confused as to which Ratchet & Clank game was being released this month? If so, could we safely speculate that Secret Agent Clank might arrive in August?

As for @realradec, they don’t have the greatest reputation when it comes to stuff like this, but other people on Reddit have also mentioned getting the same Email with the same information, so the Email itself looks legitimate.

It could, of course, be a weird mistake where the author of the Email simply got confused and threw in the wrong Ratchet & Clank without thinking and that Secret Agent Clank isn’t coming. These things can happen. Personally though, I think it probably is because Secret Agent Clank is waiting in the wings.

Secret Agent Clank was originally a PSP game but did get ported over to PS2 in 2008. With no further ports done, that has left the game unplayable to anyone who doesn’t own a PS2 or PSP, although emulating the game on PC is an option for anyone willing to sail the high seas.

It remains odd that the mainline Ratchet & Clank games aren’t being added to PS Plus Premium first. It’s possible this is due to the way Insomniac built the game’s using PlayStation 2’s architecture, taking advantage of everything they could, including bugs. However, PCSX2, a project built to emulate PS2 titles on PC, has made huge strides in emulating the R&C games.
