Keiichiro Toyama, the creator of the Silent Hill franchise, has revealed that his latest project, Slitterhead, was born out of a prototype he made while at Sony Japan for a triple-A successor to Siren.
Slitterhead is the debut project from Bokeh Game Studio, which was formed by Toyama-san following his departure from Sony Japan in December 2020. Speaking with Denfaminicogamer, the game designer revealed that “Slitterhead was born out of the idea of ‘What if I were to make Siren 3?’”

Sony was keen on the idea of a revival of the Siren series, but wanted it to be a AAA project; in response, Toyama drafted a big budget project that featured a “Siren-like concept.”

Bokeh Game Studio released Slitterhead on November 8, 2024 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. You can read our full review here.
