Rumour – Ubisoft Plans To Have 10 Assassin’s Creed Games Out In The Next 5 Years, Including A Black Flag Remake

Published:

A new rumour claims that Ubisoft’s plans for the Assassin’s Creed franchise in the coming years are perhaps bigger than we could’ve once thought.

We know that the company is working on multiple titles in its long-running franchise. It’s even now getting close to realizing its vision of having the franchise pulled together in a giant live service vehicle known as Assassin’s Creed Infinity.

Coming from Insider-Gaming who’ve previously been right about the Ubisoft’s interior plots, not only does the report claim that Ubisoft had planned for 10 Assassin’s Creed games in the next 5 years, but it adds that the beloved Assassin’s Creed VI: Black Flag will have its remake on shelves sooner than we might’ve thought.

It cushions these claims with another, that the delay recently announced for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has altered the entire timeline, which it claims is a remark taken from an internal email sent from vice president and executive producer on the AC series, Marc-Alexis Côté to those working on these 10 incoming games.

Regarding Black Flag though, the report claims that Insider-Gaming has seen gameplay for Black Flag’s remake running on Ubisoft’s Anvil Engine.

Insider-Gaming has been correct before, which is what merits eyes on this report, but the reality of long-term strategies that company’s have yet to publicly disclose is that they can change at any time. Resources can be shifted, projects cancelled, and plans altered.

10 games in 5 years is incredibly ambitious. That’s before getting around to the question of how many people actually really want 2 Assassin’s Creed games a year for the next five years.

At least a Black Flag remake will be objectively cool. A great pirate game now looking and playing better than ever (hopefully) on modern hardware. An easy win, really.
