A new report on Insider Gaming has claimed that the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, with Ubisoft Montreal revamping the project to offer a more “realistic approach.”

Since the project has been rebuilt from scratch, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake features a complete overhaul of its visuals, animations, and combat/parkour mechanics. It also means that motion capture has been redone and the project rewritten.

Unfortunately, it appears that Yuri Lowenthal, who was the voice behind the Prince in the original game and the reveal trailer for the remake, is no longer involved in the project. Elsewhere, sources speaking to the site claim that a bigger update on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake may come soon, but details are not known right now.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was announced a few years ago and last year reached an ‘important internal milestone,’ according to Ubisoft. Having said that, from this latest report it doesn’t sound like the game will be arriving on shelves any time soon.
