Retro Pokemon Brick Sets In Stock At Target – Pixel Art Mew, Pikachu, Charmander, And More

Published:

Pokemon fans looking for a fun and affordable piece of décor for their home office or game room should look no further than the latest releases from Mega Bloks at Target. Eevee and Mew have joined the Pokemon Retro Set series, which is arguably the coolest collection in Mega’s expansive line of Pokemon brick-building sets (many of which are on sale at Amazon). The new Eevee and Mew Retro Sets are only $25 and clock in at 323 and 434 pieces, respectively–so you should be able to snap these cool pixel art display pieces together in an afternoon. The sets join a lineup that includes the four original starter Pokemon from Red/Blue/Yellow: Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Pikachu.

Mega Pokemon Retro Sets with Pixel Art Designs

All of Mega’s Pokemon Retro Sets are sold out at Amazon, so check them out at Target while you can. This series hasn’t been easy to find in stock since initially launching earlier this year, and with the holiday shopping season fast approaching, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the series sell out again, as these would make for pretty awesome gifts for Pokemon fans both young and old.

As you can see below, the pixel art designs of Mega’s retro Pokemon figures would probably look great on the shelf next to the upcoming Super Mario World Lego set featuring pixel art depictions of Mario and Yoshi. Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi releases October 1 and is only available to preorder at Target and the Lego Store.

These Mega building kits let you snap together 2D versions of some of the franchise’s most popular Pokemon. When fully assembled, they stand around six inches tall and can be placed on an included display stand or mounted to a wall. Best of all, they’re officially licensed by The Pokemon Company, ensuring you get an authentic replica of their in-game counterparts.

While the Eevee and Mew kits are the newest additions to Target’s catalog, Pokemon fans will certainly want to browse the gallery of images above to see the other four sets. As mentioned, you can build all three original starters from Pokemon Red and Blue: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Naturally, a series of iconic Pokemon building sets hailing from Gen 1 wouldn’t be complete without series mascot and Pokemon Yellow starter, Pikachu.

Ash Ketchum’s companion is the only other build in the series to reach 400 pieces (exactly 400 pieces). Just don’t try to put Pikachu in Mega’s Jumbo Poke Ball or Great Ball because we all know how charged that makes the little dude (plus the figures are too big for the Poke Ball). The Target-exclusive Jumbo Poke Ball is neat, though, as it illuminates when you touch a button and has pulsating effects

Though Amazon doesn’t have any of the retro builds in stock, the retailer has one of the popular Pokemon building sets by Mega that has sold out multiple times in the past: the very cool Kanto Region Pokedex for $35. The Pokedex building set complements the retro sets almost perfectly, as it comes with five lenticular cards featuring all of the Pokemon from the Retro Set.

For a large-scale Pokemon building set that is also tailored toward play, not just display, the recently released Pokemon Training Stadium Toy Set is 1,101 pieces and discounted by 15% at Amazon.
