The PUBG Nations Cup 2024 in Seoul, South Korea, kicked off on Sept. 6, with 16 teams competing in the fourth yearly iteration of the event, featuring an impressive $300,000 USD initial prize pool.
The Nations Cup is among the biggest tournaments in the PUBG esports calendar, though teams don’t earn any PGS points that go toward a direct invitation to the biggest tournament at the end of every year, the PUBG Global Championship.
Here’s all you need to know about the PUBG Nations Cup 2024.
PUBG Nations Cup 2024 format and teams
This edition of the PUBG Nations Cup sees 16 teams from across the world meet in Seoul to compete for $300,000 USD, which will considerably increase (from crowdfunding) by adding 30 percent of the sales generated from the PNC 2024 skins. Last year, the pool started with the same base prize money, growing to a massive $710,000 USD after the crowdfunding was completed.
There are no groups for the four teams from each region: Americas, Asia, Europe, and APAC (Asia-Pacific), which play six rounds (or matches) daily to complete 18 total rounds in the tournament, stretching across three days.
To win, teams must accumulate as many points as possible through good placements and kill count in every match. PUBG Nations Cup 2024 follows the global point rules, which earn the participating teams one point for every kill and 10 points for securing the chicken dinner (first position) in any round.
The final round will be played at 8am CT on Sept. 8, and if the top two or more teams have identical total points, their placement points across all matches will determine PUBG Nations Cup 2024’s winner.
