PS5 Exclusive Forspoken Now Polarizing PS Plus Users

Published:

Almost a year after it launched, Forspoken remains polarizing even as a PS Plus freebie, if debates among players are any indication. Technically, it’s not completely free since players are paying for a subscription, but you get the idea. Those who’ve been giving Forspoken a shot at no additional cost are just as split about the value it offers as those who paid the full price for it.

PS Plus members quitting Forspoken after a few hours of playing

When PS Plus Extra and Premium December 2024 lineup was announced, we noticed a surprisingly positive response from players, many of whom said that they were looking forward to playing both Forspoken and Sonic Frontiers without forking out extra cash.

Unfortunately, a number of those who did pick up Forspoken quit the game after a few hours, citing reasons like “cringe dialogue” and poor story. Some folks have decided to stick around because they’re enjoying the combat, parkour, and traversal, but the general consensus is that Forspoken becomes unbearable if you can’t tune out its story and dialogue.

“I want to give it an honest run, but Jesus…,” remarked one player. “Gameplay wise it’s worth sticking around,” wrote another. “Left after three or so hours,” said a third. “Unbearable.”

Looks like PS Plus won’t be breathing any life into Forspoken.
