PlayStation Stars December 2024 update added a bunch of new PS Store rewards including games and virtual currency. We typically advise our readers to save their points for Wallet Funds, but with points now having an expiry date and some regions taxing PS Store purchases, it’s worth going through the rewards catalog as well.
What’s new in PS Stars December 2024 rewards update
As a reminder, rewards catalog varies from member to member, so you might not see all or some of the rewards highlighted below.
That said, Sony added Marvel Rivals virtual currency for some players (equivalent of $14.95), Nine Sols for 7,500 points, and Path of Exile 2 Founder’s Pack for 7,500 points. The full rewards catalog is pretty hefty, and can be accessed via the PS App.
Wallet Funds remain the best option if regional taxes and points expiry aren’t issues for you. The store credit disappeared without a trace for months, but was recently added back in various denominations. Like all other rewards, what options players have in terms of store credit varies.
Players can manually check the expiration date for their points by clicking on their current balance (next to PS Stars overview), then Point History in the PS App.
