Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for July 10th, 2024. It’s another Wednesday, and following in the theme of this week it is a very quiet day. Business is going to pick up tomorrow, but for today all we have is a bit of news, a single new release, and our usual lists of new and expiring sales for the day. But hey, that’s fine. It’s been so hot lately I have about 10% of my usual energy. So we’ll call it a half-break and move along. Let’s get to what we’ve got!

‘Nintendo Switch Sports’ Free Basketball Update Now Live
One interesting surprise in last month’s Nintendo Direct was that yet another free update was coming to Nintendo Switch Sports, this time adding basketball. While the game launched with six sports included, a free update in 2022 added golf to the line-up. And that looked to be that, but here we are. Perhaps we shouldn’t be that shocked, though. This game has quietly sold more than 13 million copies since it released a bit over two years ago, and that audience will likely be very happy to see more free stuff. If you own the game, simply hit that ol’ update button and you’ll be shooting hoops pretty soon.

True Colours – A Date With Deception ($13.99)
This is a visual novel where you’re given the flexibility to decide what kind of character you want to play, with your protagonist even being gender-neutral. You’ll make decisions, go on dates with co-workers, and ultimately arrive at one of twelve endings. But stay sharp, as things are more complicated than they seem. You might end up being the jerk if you’re not careful about your choices.

I’ll also call out Berserk Boy, an excellent game that any fan of Mega Man X will find plenty to like in.
