Towards the end of last week, after no news regarding the God Of War TV show from Amazon Prime Video and PlayStation Productions for months, it was confirmed that the coming adaptation had lost its showrunner and creative team.
Not only that, Sony and Amazon were going to “start fresh” with a different creative direction for the series, since it clearly ended up being the case that Sony and Rafe Judkins, Hawk Otsby and Mark Fergus couldn’t come to common ground.
Today, a report from Deadline confirms that Amazon and Sony have wasted no time finding a replacement to hit the ground running, and that replacement is Ronald D. Moore.
Moore comes in after recently signing a multi-year deal with Sony earlier this year, and previously co-created Outlander and For All Mankind.
It’ll be interesting then to see how Moore takes the reigns for the show. Further reports after the news of Judkins, Otsby and Fergus leaving the show claim that even though Sony and Amazon liked the scripts the trio wrote, they simply wanted to go in a different direction.
