miHoYo has announced that Genshin Impact update 4.8, known as Summertide Sales and Tales, will be released on July 17, 2024 for all available platforms.
The developer confirmed that Genshin Impact 4.8 will feature Simulanka, a new summer-themed map for players to hit up, offering limited-time stories, seasonal events, rewards, and a new look for Nilou and Kirana. Furthermore, a new five-star recruitable character in the form of perfumer Emile will join the game.
Emile is a professional forensic cleaner, and is known for her investigation skills and keeping a low profile when required. Her story quest is titled Pomum de Ambra Chapter, and the character wields an elemental skill Lumindouce Case, which inflicts Dendro damage to nearby enemies.

Simulanka is a captivating world consisting of several distinct lands populated by origami creatures, clockwork figures, and other fantastical beings. Together with Kirara, Nilou, Navia, and the Wanderer, players can explore the enchanting landscapes, lend a hand to resolve an impending crisis, as well as uncover the truth and surprises of this magical world.
Elsewhere, miHoYo confirmed that a new feature known as Echo will be implemented, which adds new effects to character movements, which when sprinting leaves a unique trailing effect. Echoes can be obtained in version 4.8 for Diluc, Qiqi, Kiara, Jean and Ningguang by completing the ‘Envisaged Echoes” challenges in the Imaginarium Theatre Lobby.
