A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one! The 2002 action-adventure game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, starring Jango Fett, is getting remastered by Aspyr.
Set to launch on August 1st for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PC and Switch, this new version will feature visual enhancements, improved environmental textures, dynamic lighting effects and even a flashlight to help get around some of the darker areas. All for $19.99.
“Become the most feared Bounty Hunter in the galaxy!” says he official press release. “As Jango Fett, you’ll have to jump, jetpack, climb, and maneuver in this iconic action-adventure game featuring a variety of visual improvements on modern platforms, as well as Steam Deck support and a number of DualSense controller features for PlayStation 5 players.”
For this new release, Aspyr are also promising to restore a missing easter egg. In the original game players could find a special message written in Aurebesh which said “Cash in all bounties to play as Boba.”

Unfortunately for players though, the ability to play as Boba never made it into the game. But now, in the remaster, once you beat the campaign you’ll unlock a special Boba Fett skin.
It’s worth mentioning that PlayStation owners can already actually play Star Wars: Bounty Hunter via emulation for $11.29
It’s also worth keeping in mind that Aspyr’s reputation is rather it and miss. It was Aspyr, after all, that gave us the slightly wonky Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection just a few months ago. To their credit they’ve largely fixed the issues effecting it, though.
