Black Myth: Wukong has been a massive release globally, and because it’s currently only available on the PS5, it’s been a huge boon for PlayStation’s console sales across the world (mostly in China), but there’s a big question mark around why it’s only available on PlayStation.
The rumour has been that technical issues with the Xbox Series S have prevented it from releasing on Xbox platforms, but now new reports from IGN and Forbes both claim that in actuality, what is preventing Wukong from releasing on Xbox is that it’s a timed PS5-exclusive.
Both reports cite their own sources who point to the deal, not any technical issue, as what’s blocking it from being available on any other console, at least for the time being.
Neither specifies just how long the exclusivity deal is, though if a year from Wukong’s release we finally hear about it coming to Xbox, then we can hazard a guess.
