Bend Studio’s community manager Kevin McAllister took to Twitter on Thursday to reiterate to Days Gone fans that the next game to come out of Sony Bend will be a brand new IP, and not a new Days Gone title.
When Days Gone launched, it found a community of players who loved it but it never reached the same heights as other first-party PlayStation titles both in sales and reputation.
That didn’t change the fact that the players who really loved Days Gone have continuously be vocal about wanting another one, and it’s been long rumoured that Bend would return to the series. But at least for its next game, that’s not what’s happening.
“I apologize to our Days Gone community for continuously getting fed false hope and poor information by people looking for likes. It’s not fair to you all,” McAllister began in his tweet.
“We are currently working on a new IP, and when we have actual news to share it will come from our studio.”
It’s not what Days Gone fans want to hear of course, but anything is possible – even Days Gone returning one day sometime in the future – but definitely not in time to be Bend’s next game.
