Astro Bot went from being a launch title with PlayStation’s first step into VR into a full blown mascot for the game, beginning with Rescue Mission’s success, and being cemented in praise for Astro’s Playroom, the pre-installed launch game for the PS5.
Coming up on four years since the PS5 launched, it’s still wild to consider that a bundled-in launch title meant to showcase all the new things that make PS5 great doubled as not only a great game, but one of the best 3D platformers we’ve seen in the last decade.
All this considered, Astro Bot is primed to get a new entry in his saga, and according to prominent leaker billbill_kun of Dealabs, that’s exactly what’s happening.
Billbill_kun claims in their latest report that not only is a new Astro Bot game well on its way, we could be seeing it sometime in the next “15 days.”
That covers from time of writing on Friday through to the kicking-off of Summer Games Fest, which also fits around the time that PlayStation has done its own showcase in previous years.
We’re in the final stretch ahead of Summer Games Fest, and the tsunami of announcements yet to to come. It’s always at this point that the dam begins to crack, and things only days, weeks away from official reveal have their surprise spoiled.
Not to mention the fact that billbill_kun has proven to be a reliable source across a variety of topics, most recently they leaked the cover art for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 just ahead of its official reveal.
So with any luck, this is happening, and we’ll find out more about Astro’s latest adventure soon.
